An American tradition since 1945 the Coast Guard House has been synonymous with serving the freshest of seafood, delicious entrees, and the finest desserts in a casual, relaxed spectacular waterfront atmosphere. The center of the restaurant was originally built as a life saving station for the U.S. Life Saving Service what is presently known as the United States Coast Guard; in 1945 an addition was built to transform it to a very unique seasonal oceanfront restaurant. In 1979, present owners, completely renovated the structure making it into a year round dining experience and adding a deck which captivates patrons from the middle of April until the end of October. The deck, located on the upper level, offers panoramic views of Narragansett Town Beach, the Atlantic Ocean, and a distant Newport, RI (8 miles as the “crow flies”). Two outdoor bars and a separate kitchen allow an unforgettable outdoor eating and drinking experience. Our second level indoor bar located in the “Anchor Room” allows a year round opportunity as a perfect setting for casual business meetings to formal gatherings. Throughout the summer and on weekends year round customers come and dance to our DJ playing your favorite music. Perched on the Ocean’s Edge, customers enjoy a friendly and well trained staff who excel in making your visit extremely memorable (as if you were on a cruise ship). Seafood lovers savor over the freshest of seafood much of which is bought in our very own PORT OF GALILEE on a daily basis. Our "Day Boat" entree has become one of our most popular dishes due to its freshness and the way it is expertly prepared. From our appetizers to our mouth watering entrees then to our decadent desserts your meal will be complimented with an extensive collection of reasonably priced wines to some of the widest varieties of beers and alcoholic beverages available. Sunday Brunch items range from customary breakfast fare, to delicious luncheon beef, fish, and chicken varieties.
